Psywar

There’s not much to be said about Metanoia’s “Psywar” except that it bears watching. A history of the public relations industry, this outstanding documentary explores the highly deleterious impact of organized and well-funded propaganda efforts on a would-be democratic society. Evidence of Revision 5: RFK Assassination, MKULTRA and the Jonestown Massacre

This is part five of six of “Evidence of Revision,” an eight-hour video collection which covers many a taboo subject in American history including the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK, the causes of the Vietnam war, the social uprisings of the 1960s and ’70s, the Jonestown massacre, government mind control programs such as MKULTRA, and vote rigging and political corruption at the highest levels. This installment continues with part four’s discussion of the RFK assassination as it pertains to the unusual behavior of Kennedy’s presumed killer, Sirhan Sirhan, and moves into a discussion of mind control “doctors” such as the once highly regarded Ewan Cameron, who destroyed the lives of countless hundreds of psychiatric patients through exotic forms of scientifically administered torture aimed at complete and total brainwashing of the victim. Finally, part five covers possible CIA operative Jim Jones and his highly abusive “Peoples Temple” cult, which was destroyed in a mass suicide in 1978 — or was it mass murder? Evidence of Revision 3: LBJ, Hoover and Others

This is part three of six of “Evidence of Revision,” an eight-hour video collection which covers many a taboo subject in American history including the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK, the causes of the Vietnam war, the social uprisings of the 1960s and ’70s, the Jonestown massacre, government mind control programs such as MKULTRA, and vote rigging and political corruption at the highest levels. Coming on the heels of part two’s in-depth discussion of the corruption of the Johnson administration, this installment shifts the focus onto the blackmailing of FBI head J. Edgar Hoover, who for years denied the existence of organized crime, and then returns to LBJ’s possible connections to the JFK assassination. Attorney General Robert Kennedy, the President’s brother, made it clear that it was his ambition to relentlessly pursue the mafia and found no friend at all in Hoover in this. Perhaps we can find some insight in Hoover’s statement that “Justice is merely incidental to law and order. Law and order is what covers the whole picture.” [END] Permalink: Evidence of Revision 3: LBJ, Hoover and Others

Evidence of Revision 2: Vietnam and LBJ

This is part two of six of “Evidence of Revision,” an eight-hour video collection which covers many a taboo subject in American history including the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK, the causes of the Vietnam war, the social uprisings of the 1960s and ’70s, the Jonestown massacre, government mind control programs such as MKULTRA, and vote rigging and political corruption at the highest levels. This installment, which opens with another great “conspiracy” montage, picks up where part one left off, with the assassination of John F. Kennedy and a review of Kennedy’s public stances, continues into the escalation of the Vietnam conflict into a full-blown and terrible war under the notoriously corrupt Presidential administration of Lyndon Johnson, and concludes with a review of the House Select Committee on Assassinations and related topics, including FBI operative Lee Oswald’s 201 File. Evidence of Revision 1: The Assassinations of Kennedy and Oswald

Above is part one of six of “Evidence of Revision,” an eight-hour video collection which covers many a taboo subject in American history including the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK, the causes of the Vietnam war, the social uprisings of the 1960s and ’70s, the Jonestown massacre, government mind control programs such as MKULTRA, and vote rigging and political corruption at the highest levels. This installment, which opens with an excellent video collage on “conspiracy theory,” focuses on the highly suspicious assassination of U. S. President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. From a long and rambling introduction from a news commentator upon Kennedy’s arrival concerning the assassination of William McKinley to reports and video of two rifles and two different types of ammunition having been found in the Texas School Book Depository from where Kennedy was officially shot to the arrest and assassination of presumed killer Lee Oswald, himself, “Evidence of Revision” is a moving overview of the many questions which still remain concerning this watershed event. Orwell Rolls in His Grave

Robert Kane Pappas’ “Orwell Rolls in His Grave” is probably the premier video overview of what is wrong with the media today and how American democracy has suffered as a result of the faults of this essential part of a self-governing society. Featuring Robert McChesney, Mark Crispin Miller, Bernie Sanders and others, “Orwell” covers a wide range of topics from the depoliticizing of the American public at the hands of the infotainment-oriented “news” agencies to the widespread media consolidation following the sweeping deregulations of the Reagan era. Hearts and Minds

The Vietnam war was about communism and the “domino theory,” “they” say. Then again, some of the same “them” also say that today’s so-called “war on terror” is about terrorism and “fightin’ ‘em over there so we don’t have to fight ‘em over here.” This gem from the Criterion Collection explores other ideas about the United States’ financial and military involvement in the war to control the natural resources and people (“human resources”) of southeast Asia, and relates various accounts of individuals connected with it in some way. Vietnam: American Holocaust

This incredibly frank Vietnam war documentary takes a bold look at the outrageously cynical political maneuvering behind the United States’ military involvement in Southeast Asia, first as a financial and political backer of imperial France, then as an installer of various puppet regimes, and finally through the stupefying and horrific violence of the many years of combat which followed. No matter how much or how little you may know about the Vietnam war, “Vietnam: American Holocaust” is simply not to be missed. [END] Permalink: Vietnam: American Holocaust

The Great Conspiracy: The 9/11 News Special You Never Saw

Barrie Zwicker’s “The Great Conspiracy: The 9/11 News Special You Never Saw” is a nice overview of the reasons to doubt the official story of the 9/11 attacks. Here is some additional information on Philip Zelikow, executive director of the 9/11 Commission and a member of the Clinton-Bush transition team. It should also be noted that 1998, the year that Zelikow’s “Catastrophic Terrorism” was published, was also the year that the neocons’ Project for the New American Century group was beginning its push on Bill Clinton to attack Iraq and essentially begin the so-called “War on Terror” at that time. Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War

The “whole truth” about anything may or may not be knowable, let alone expressible. Nevertheless, Robert Greenwald’s “Uncovered”, promoted heavily by the MoveOn PAC, interviews a number of U. S. government officials and ex-officials who have something to say about the Iraq war being a fraud. The lies which paved the way for the U. S. invasion of Iraq here are discussed at length by insiders from the CIA, armed forces and other institutions. [END] Permalink: Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War
